We are a family-run demolition and groundworks company based in Benfleet, Essex. Jamie has been in the building industry for 20 years, and Maibo has been trading since 2014. In that time we have dug footings, cleared sites and taken down buildings across Castle Point and the wider county, for homeowners, builders and commercial clients.

Experienced professionals
Maibo works alongside building companies across Essex and have taken on everything from single-storey extensions to new-build houses, which means we understand the whole job, not just our part of it.
That matters more than it sounds. Groundworks set out fractionally wrong, or drainage run without thinking about where the extension actually sits, cost somebody money further down the line. Because we have stood in the builder's boots as well as the groundworker's, we set out with the finished building in mind.

Jamie started out in the building trade learning groundworks on other people's sites long before he set up on his own. Maibo was formed in 2014, and it has stayed a family business ever since, run day to day by the same people who founded it.
We have never chased size for its own sake. Being small enough that Jamie prices the work and is on site himself is the point, not a limitation. It means the person who looked at your job is the person who turns up to do it, and there is nobody in between to lose the detail.
Efficient operation
We own our plant and machinery rather than hiring it in, from excavators and dumpers through to breakers and attachments. It is maintained regularly by skilled technicians, because a machine that breaks down halfway through a job costs you time as well as us.
Owning our own kit also means we are not waiting on a hire yard to start. When we give you a start date, we can keep it. We can also supply machinery and an operator on their own, if you have a job that needs plant and a driver rather than a full team.
Every one of our tradesmen is experienced in all aspects of groundworks and holds the relevant cards. Our staff are trained to CSCS, CPCS or NVQ level, and we run a continuous training programme so that everyone is up to date on the plant, equipment and PPE they use.
Polite matters as much as competent. Most of our domestic work happens in gardens and driveways, sometimes with a family still living in the house and neighbours either side. Our lads are used to that, and they behave accordingly.
Comprehensive risk assessments and method statements are part of the planning for every project we take on, whatever the size. We are fully insured for both domestic and commercial work, and we are happy to provide our paperwork before we start.
On demolition work we survey before we begin, arrange utility disconnections properly, and where asbestos is present we have it surveyed and removed by licensed specialists rather than touching it ourselves.
